Virginia Tech email example

This email from the former Virginia Tech Student Government Association President and Vice President was sent out to the student body on September 24, 2013. This email, combined with Virginia Tech’s other National Voter Registration Day activities, helped more than 300 students sign up for TurboVote ahead of the Virginia gubernatorial election.

Fellow Hokies:

Today, Sept. 24 is National Voter Registration Day. The November election is approaching quickly, and if you are a citizen over the age of 18, you have the right to vote in this election.

The Student Government Association is glad to announce TurboVote on Virginia Tech’s campus. This resource allows you to easily register to vote online, verify or update your voter registration, request an absentee ballot form by mail, and sign up for text and/or email election reminders (all for free).

Whether you vote in Virginia or another state, we encourage you to take advantage of this resource. Spending a few minutes now will make the voting process easier in the future.
