Measure your impact with Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4, or GA4, is a powerful tool for tracking user engagement on websites and applications. TurboVote partners can leverage GA4 to track voter engagement on TurboVote and gain valuable insights into voter behavior. You can:

  • Leverage event tracking to understand each user’s interactions, from how they arrive at TurboVote, to the links they click on, the pages they view, and how long they spend on each page

  • Learn user demographics such as age, gender, and location

  • Dive deep into Google Analytics reports, including real-time reporting

Get started with Google Analytics

Use the quickstart setup tool to create a free Google Analytics account.

Once your account is set up, share your measurement ID with the TurboVote team. We’ll connect your measurement ID to your TurboVote site so you can see insights from your TurboVote site right in your Google Analytics dashboard. If you use Universal Analytics and need to transition to GA4, review the UA → GA4 migration guide

The TurboVote team will add your Measurement ID to your site within 2-3 business days and notify you when it has been completed so you can verify that the data is being collected.

How to verify GA4 is collecting data

Once the Partnerships team has added your Measurement ID to your TurboVote site you will start seeing data in your Realtime Report. Anyone that has access to your Google Analytics 4 property will be able to view the data in the report. The Realtime Report will show you the users that have visited your TurboVote site within the last 30 minutes. The report will provide you with a device breakdown including mobile, desktop, and/or tablet.

To access your Realtime Report, follow the steps below:

  • Sign into your Google Analytics account.

  • If you have multiple GA4 properties, select your property for TurboVote.

  • On the left side navigation panel select Reports.

  • Under Reports snapshot select Realtime.

If you don’t see any data in your Realtime report, it’s possible that there are no active users at that time.  Simply navigate to your TurboVote site and select a page.  This data will then be reflected on your Realtime Report.
